What's actually happening
One Tuesday, start to finish. The top row is your day. The branch underneath is the job.
One Tuesday, left to right
One Tuesday, top to bottom
This isn’t a work-ethic problem. There is no version of this trade where the owner is both on the tools and next to a phone. The job needs one and the lead needs the other, and for most of the season you can only do one at a time.
How we fix it
Same Tuesday, same compactor, same call at 10:14. The only thing that changes is who picks up.
One Tuesday, left to right
One Tuesday, top to bottom
The automation
Mason answers, and text-back catches the rest
He picks up what you can’t. Anything he doesn’t catch gets a text within seconds, before she has dialled the next number.
- Call comes in, Mason answers on the second ring in your company’s name
- He asks what the project is, where it is, and roughly what size
- He books the estimate straight into your calendar and confirms it by text
- Anything he can’t answer hands off to you, with the transcript attached
- Any call that still slips through gets an automatic text back within seconds
The point isn’t the robot. The point is that at 10:14, while you were forty feet from the phone, somebody in your company answered it.
What it doesn't fix
It won't make her choose you
If the guy who answered was cheaper and available sooner, he's still going to win some of these.
It won't help with calls you do answer badly, rushed, on a loud site, half-listening
That's a different problem.
And it doesn't work if your number rings to a personal mobile you never set up properly
The system has to sit on the business line.
